We are pleased to inform you that the time has come to carefully think about and decide which subjects you will study at GCSE level in Years 10 and 11.
In Years 10 and 11, all students will study English Language, English Literature, Maths, Double Science, Ethics and PE core. You then have the opportunity to choose your other four subjects. One must be a Humanities subject (History or Geography) and one a modern foreign language (French, German or Spanish).
This website is designed to provide you with an outline of each of the subject options available to you. We have a range of GCSE options available which you can choose. These options are designed to keep your learning broad and balanced, whilst also preparing you for your next steps.
As you go through the process of making your subject choices, we recommend that you spend time exploring and discussing these options together to help make your decisions. If you would like any support from your subject teachers or Personal Tutors, please contact them via email at the academy to discuss. You will also have the opportunity to discuss with your teachers at your Year 9 Parents’ Evening.
These are important choices that you will make, and they should be built upon your strengths, interests, as well as your future career choices. If you are motivated and enjoy what you are studying, you are far more likely to achieve well over the next two years.
Once you have made your choices, please complete the preference options form which you will find on this page. Please ensure that you indicate clearly your preferences and submit to us by Friday 1st March via the online form. The link to make your choices will be sent to Parents/Carers via email on 23rd February 2024.
