Welcome
Welcome to the UKAT Options Event website 2024 at the University of Kent Academies Trust (UKAT) Sixth Form, a shared educational provision across the two UKAT academies: Chatham Grammar and Brompton Academy. We are excited to announce that we have recently invested in excellent new facilities so our students can enjoy a first class experience at the UKAT Sixth Form and study and learn in a mature, modern, fast paced learning environment.
The UKAT Sixth Form invites you to consider our ambitious and exciting new Post-16 offer. Secure in the OFSTED ‘Good’ rating for Sixth Form, we offer an extensive range of options coupled with excellent facilities and state of the art Apple technology across the shared UKAT Sixth Form.
At UKAT Sixth Form we lay the foundations for our young people to enter successful career and learning pathways, by offering a range of courses for those wishing to go on to university or to follow alternative routes, such as apprenticeships or employment. Supported within the family setting of the UKAT Sixth Form, its tailored, wrap-around package of personal support and guidance enhances learning for all our students.
We offer a broad range of Level 3 qualifications, including A levels and BTEC options. The expectation is that over two years, Years 12 and 13 students will undertake at least three A levels or equivalent and, if necessary, re-take GCSE maths and/or English to achieve a grade 4 or higher. The UKAT Sixth Form curriculum is forward-thinking, exciting and gives students the chance to build on their Level 2 GCSE and BTEC successes.
Our established and unique partnership with the University of Kent enables us to offer exclusive and exciting opportunities to engage with Higher Education throughout their time in the UKAT Sixth Form. Students can access bespoke small group tutoring with the University of Kent ambassadors programme which is unique to our UKAT Sixth Form.
Curriculum input by University of Kent lecturers and undergraduates, together with study skills support, and unparalleled access to University of Kent facilities, means that UKAT Sixth Form students gain a unique insight and preparation for Post 18 options.
Transport is provided free of charge between the two sites meaning that lessons are easily accessible. Students can also enjoy all the facilities across both of our UKAT Sixth Form sites such as cashless catering, cafes, high quality ICT facilities and not forgetting our very cool study and common rooms areas just available to our Sixth Form students.
